Seven steps: find your segment, pick your business priorities, build your first 12-prompt group (3 x 2 x 2 across intent, visibility hygiene, scope), tag every variation, pick your AI engines, set frequency (limit 7 per prompt), bulk upload and set active. Run multiple times manually if you need data fast.
Step 1: Find your main segment
Inside Rankscale, Prompt Research is where you launch the "Need help with finding segments" helper from a seed domain, URL, or market term. Select your region, pick the segment that matches your ICP, and treat that choice as the spine of your first prompt group.
Step 2: Set business priorities
Define your main segment(s), region, and business objective (conversion, awareness, source of truth). Your first prompt group should map your overall AI visibility in one segment. Specialize later.
Step 3: Build your first prompt group (3 x 2 x 2 = 12 prompts)
- Visibility Hygiene: Branded vs non-branded (2)
- Intent: Information vs consideration vs transaction (3)
- Scope: Segment vs niche within segment (2)
3 x 2 x 2 = 12 prompt variations covering the full scenario matrix.
Step 4: Tag every variation
Fill the columns via the Bulk Add option (Search Terms tab): Region, Segment, Core Prompt (Group), Tags (reflect scenario), Prompt Variation, AI Engine, Frequency. No tags = difficult to act on later.
Step 5: Pick your AI engines
Use the buyer-type matrix (lesson 7). 2–3 engines to start, more if your ICP spans regions.
Step 6: Set frequency
Daily to start, weekly for long-term.
Step 7: Bulk upload and activate
Use Bulk Add in Rankscale to set your prompts or upload a csv-file. Set active. Prompts start running on the selected frequency. Need data fast? Run prompts manually in Rankscale for immediate results.
Do this now:
Open Rankscale. Set up your prompt group. Run this daily for a week, or select them in the Search Terms prompt and run it 7 times manually. Fill one row per variation via the 'Bulk Add' option in Search Terms tab.
