Data Nerd & Cloud Expert | Rankscale | Vienna (Hybrid) | Full-time

In 12 months, you will be the go-to person for all things data and cloud at Rankscale, shaping the architecture as we expand to new markets, engines, and scale our client base.

About this role

At Rankscale, we are building software to help hundreds of brands (such as Bosch, REWE, L'Oreal, Publicis Groupe) monitor and improve their visibility in AI search engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity. We are looking for people who embrace AI tooling to 10x what they are capable of.

We are scaling fast and need someone who can own our data infrastructure and make sure every prompt execution, AI response, and metric is captured, stored, and delivered reliably at scale.

What you will do

  • Own and scale our Google Cloud Platform infrastructure (Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Firestore, GCS) as prompt execution volume grows across enterprise clients
  • Architect and maintain the data pipeline from LLM response capture to processing, storage, and delivery via REST API and Looker Studio connectors, ensuring reliability and consistency at scale
  • Design and optimize our job scheduling and queuing system for parallel prompt executions across 17+ AI engines and 9+ markets without bottlenecks
  • Drive our infrastructure toward enterprise-grade standards: geo-redundant storage, encrypted backups, and GDPR compliance

Requirements

Must-have

  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Firestore, GCS)
  • Strong backend/API skills building and maintaining REST APIs consumed by enterprise clients
  • Comfort working with large-scale data pipelines and async job processing
  • Ability to work independently and make architectural decisions without hand-holding

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with Looker Studio connectors or similar BI integrations
  • Familiarity with multi-region infrastructure and geo-resolved networking
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data privacy requirements for SaaS platforms
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs (LLM providers, data enrichment services)
